Thursday evenings (May 21, 28, June 4, 11, 18, 25) 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM From Conflict to Consciousness: Communication With the Intent to Relate Rather Than Control series with Ashley King, M.S.Ed., Ed.M.

Whether we realize it or not, the truth is that we often communicate with the intent to control rather than to relate. Control-oriented communication is geared toward ensuring a particular outcome. That ties our hands and prevents us from actually being present with the other person. When we truly relate, we value what is over what should or could be. In order to experience true connection with another, we must be able to enter into a realm of uncertainty together. For many of us, this is highly uncomfortable territory.
This 6-week series is an invitation to begin moving out of conflict and into consciousness. When we learn how to stop being “right,” we can actually start to become Real. This kind of consciousness begets greater authenticity, presence, and kindness. It also creates an opportunity to participate in life and relationships instead of trying to control them. This course is open to anyone interested in learning to communicate more authentically. It is especially recommended for couples and/or co-parents who seek more freedom and efficacy in their relational experience. Additionally, couples who are in a process of “consciously uncoupling” or mindful separation could greatly benefit from this series. $240/person; $420/couple (or “uncouple” or co-parent duo)  For information, please visit www.ashleykingtherapy.com
